Scottish & Irish Treasures

5.0 ⭐     32 customer reviews

From the bold elegance of Glasgow to the poetic cliffs of Moher and the soulful streets of Dublin, this immersive journey across Scotland and Ireland invites you to fall in love with two lands rich in story, song, and spirit. Stroll castle halls steeped in legend, toast to tradition in Europe’s oldest pub, and ride across timeless landscapes that have inspired myth and memory. Whether it’s a sheepdog display in the Highlands or the echo of live music in a cozy Irish pub, each day reveals a new treasure waiting to be uncovered.

Day 1 – Glasgow's Bold Spirit & Kelvingrove Treasures

Your journey begins in the vibrant heart of Glasgow. After checking in, set out on a panoramic city tour revealing its industrial roots, Victorian charm, and dynamic cultural scene. At Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum, be captivated by one of Europe’s top art collections. Toast to adventure with a welcome drink before enjoying an evening of your own discovering Glasgow’s electric nightlife or cozy eateries.

Step aboard a boat to cruise the tranquil waters of Loch Lomond, surrounded by highland peaks. Explore the town of Inveraray and delve into noble heritage with a guided tour of Inveraray Castle — a Downton Abbey fan favorite. Pass through the dramatic Glencoe Valley before settling for the night at a charming lochside hotel in Ballachulish.

Embark on one of the world’s most scenic drives—the Road to the Isles. Pause at the Glenfinnan Monument before boarding a ferry to the Isle of Skye, where you’ll uncover the romantic ruins of Armadale Castle. Return to the mainland and trace the mysterious shores of Loch Ness en route to your stately accommodation in Nairn.

Stand on the windswept moorlands of Culloden Battlefield and uncover the story of Bonnie Prince Charlie’s final stand. Continue through striking Highland landscapes to a working sheep farm for an entertaining sheepdog demonstration. End the day near Pitlochry in a peaceful manor-style retreat.

Tour the historic halls of Blair Castle, ancestral home of the Dukes and Earls of Atholl. Then go behind the scenes at Blair Athol Distillery to taste true Highland spirit. Spend your afternoon discovering Pitlochry’s quaint shops or the serene hotel grounds.

At Glamis Castle, walk in the footsteps of kings and Macbeth’s shadow. Visit the iconic town of St Andrews, birthplace of golf and steeped in academia and charm. Cap your day with a traditional Scottish evening of food, music, and revelry — unless you’re traveling between July 27–August 17, in which case the evening is yours to explore at will.

Take in Edinburgh’s rich contrasts on a guided tour — from the medieval Royal Mile to the elegant Georgian “New Town.” Explore Edinburgh Castle, perched atop an ancient volcanic rock. You’ll have free time to discover the capital’s layers of history and culture. July 27–August 17 departures include a special evening at the Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo.

Bid farewell to Scotland as you ferry to Belfast, where the award-winning Titanic Belfast immerses you in the story of the world’s most famous ship. Travel onward to Dublin’s picturesque seaside suburb of Dun Laoghaire, where your Irish guide awaits. Enjoy a relaxed evening in this charming harbor town.

Journey west to Athlone and sip a pint in Sean’s Bar — Europe’s oldest pub. In Galway, take a walking tour with a local guide through its colorful lanes and stone buildings. Enjoy the city’s infectious energy before regrouping for dinner.

Marvel at the rugged beauty of Connemara, where misty mountains meet still lakes. Cruise the fjord of Killary Harbour (seasonal), then wander the fairytale grounds of Kylemore Abbey, complete with a Victorian walled garden. Return to Galway for a lively night out.

Skirt Galway Bay and venture through the lunar landscape of the Burren. At a local farm, watch skilled sheepdogs in action. Then stand in awe at the towering Cliffs of Moher. A ferry ride brings you into County Kerry, where a spirited night of Irish music and dinner awaits at Kate Kearney’s Cottage.

Ride a jaunting car through Killarney National Park to Ross Castle. Then wind through the highlights of the Ring of Kerry, pausing in the postcard-perfect town of Kenmare. Stop by Moriarty’s, a CIE partner, nestled in the Gap of Dunloe. Return to Killarney for an evening of your choosing.

Ascend to the top of Blarney Castle to kiss the fabled stone or stroll the peaceful grounds. Along the southern coast, stop at the Marine Bar in Dungarvan for a traditional music session. End your day with a guided walking tour through the ancient streets of Waterford.

Watch master glassmakers at work on a guided tour of the House of Waterford Crystal. Head to Kilkenny for free time before delving into the beautifully restored Kilkenny Castle. In Dublin, raise a glass over your farewell dinner at The Morehampton.

After breakfast, your tour concludes. But the stories — and the magic — will stay with you.
